Ko Tao is the smallest and most uninhabitated of the group of three islands (Ko Pha Ngan, Ko Samui and Ko Tao) in the gulf of Thailand. Steep furrowed pistes, several beautiful beaches and lonely bays mark this island. Many of the bays are suited for snorkeling and diving, which is why Kao Tao is one of Thailands largest diving centers. There are over 40 different schools where you can learn everything about diving.
Even with the huge range of shops and restaurants around the pier in Ban Mae Hat and new guesthouses springing up all over the island, there are no massive tourist waves or concrete constructions of new big hotels. The island provides not only luxurious to simple accommodations, but a lot of dreamful, untouched and natural places.
