Thailand - Kambodscha Visarun!

Hallo Curuu,

China banned Lonley Planet Guidebook?

I traveled extensively with Lonely Planet China among other travel guides and met a lot of backpackers doing so and they never had any problem with this. Besides it is quite easy to find Lonely Planet guides in China. No need to buy them "under the table"

Beste Reisezeit Bali / Indonesien ?

What is Curry?

The term curry is most likely an anglicized name for Kari derived from the usage of "Kari" in the South Indian languages to connotate some of the secondary dishes eaten with rice[citation needed]. In addition, curry leaves, known as karivēpāku in Telugu, karibevu in Kannada, and 'Karuvapillai' in Tamil literally means black/dark leaf, and is used in various kinds of dishes common in South India. The term is now used more broadly, especially in the Western world, to refer to almost any spiced, sauce-based dishes cooked in various south and southeast Asian styles. Though each curry has a specific name, generically any wet side dish made out of vegetable and/or meat is historically referred to as a 'curry'--especially those yellow, Indian-inspired powders and sauces with high proportions of turmeric. The dishes are given specific names that indicate the meat and/or vegetable, method of cooking, or the particular spices used. Not all curries are made from curry powder; in India the word curry is heavily used in the southern part of India in languages like Tamil which is analogous to "sabji" in the north. The spice mixes are called as "masala" in the south and Garam masala in Hindi and Nepali. Most dishes involving lentils or dried beans are called dal in the north, or are referred to by a name specific to the spices used in the preparation. There is a particular north Indian and Pakistani dish which is given the name kadi and utilizes yoghurt, ghee, and besan. In Northern India and Pakistan, the word "curry" usually means "gravy," likely because it sounds similar to the word "tari" (which means "gravy" in many North Indian and Pakistani languages and comes from root Tur which means wet in Urdu/Frasi)[1]. Bengali dishes called "Torkari" or vegetables stewed/dry in gravy is another potential source for the anglicized "curry" since the British occupation of India started in Bengal before Madras. Another theory is the root word for curry is "Kadhi" which derives from the term "Kadhna" meaning "to simmer" or "Karahi" denoting the cooking vessel used in Indian kitchens.

Start Deutsch 1 - Deutsch lernen in Bangkok / Thailand

Hi,

what kind of single-dimensional shit are you stating Oliss?

I am from hamburg and I have a bi-national family background.

Still we can walk freely in our country!

I dont like the attitudes of german nationalists, mainly people with lesser educational level (I better might call them simply stupid).

and for shure there are a lot of them on the country side especially in the eastern parts of germany.

But why should we feel limited in the ranges of our movements ... because of them???

Yeah, coloured people will maybe receive insultments, but its not like you get shot just around the next corner.

We have a lot of foreign people living all across germany, all in all there are troubles occasionally, same in Paris, London or New York.

But dont feel like you are offending straight the way when you are entering germany.

Take care and walk with open eyes ... like you should do everywhere... and stick to locals that are nice.

I found tailors everywhere! This was something I had been recommended to do -- take my favourite outfit and have it copied in different fabrics and colours. And let me tell you, there are wall to wall fabrics to choose from! and choose colours/fabrics/designs and get measured, the next day to try the clothes on and make any alterations, I chose a design from a magazine and had a suit and a Thai silk dress made in Savile Row Tailor. It came to about 150 GBP, but considering it was Thai silk and tailor made, I still thought this was reasonable! When my mum and dad went, my dad had a pair of his favourite trousers copied in different colours and this was a lot cheaper than having something designed from scratch.Bear in mind when being measured, you swell in the heat! Highly recommended savilerowfashion@gmail.com

Tailor / Bangkok

Hi, It was 120s Italian wool, black in colour. They have lots of fabric books. Tell them what you are looking for ie a black fitted suit. They will show you the different fabrics, shades of black and quality of fabric. You then pick the colour and quality you like and ask for a price. Because i bought two suits i got them slightly cheaper I had never been to a tailor before, at first you worry that your suits will not turn out nice. But for me it was money well spent. It was also a great experience. I have a very important interview in 10 days time and am so happy i went to Savile row fashion(Bangkok) Take your wife to the fittings, so that you have a second opinion on the style of the suit when you have the suit on. Your wife can see if it needs taken in more.......... You need to tell the tailor if the shoulders are too big, trousers are too baggy, jacket is too long. Tell him if you want a single rear vent on the jacket, two button or three. I would say there are the best in town. Hope this helps

Hi,I have been using Excelsior.Used them for several years also. Always was good for me. I am what is known as an abnormal person since my arms was fractured and my shoulders are not quite right .I have always been happy with the clothes they made for me. Probably will be getting more shirts/pants made next time I'm in BKK (think will be December). Bangkok got lots of good tailors but its best to go to the ones recommended otherwise the time and day is just ruin in getting it fitted right. Excelsior is reputed to be one of Bangkok's most popular tailors. I was taken there by a courier from the Pinnacle Hotel . There were armed guards outside which was scary but the staff were very friendly, and I felt very special the way I was treated. They have a huge range of fabrics and styles. Oh and they do hotel pickups for free. When i returned form travelling around thailand they couriered my clothes to my room on KO San Road - very helpful as it was rush hour . They have also many famous people come to them. I bought a tailored suit ( jacket and trousers, 3 shirts a 3 ties) a fitted dress for my sister and a kimono for my mum. That all came to 15 500 baht - roughly £200 which i think is fairly cheap - much less than i would have to pay back in the UK.

Segeln in Thailand
